How we treat it at AfterOurs
A provider asks about your symptoms, meals, medicines and habits, and examines you. Because heart trouble can feel like heartburn, an EKG may be done when the cause isn't clear. Treatment usually combines simple changes, like smaller meals, not eating late and raising the head of the bed, with medicine to reduce acid. Reflux that doesn't settle, or comes with warning signs, needs follow-up with your primary care doctor or a specialist.
